The Arizona Coyotes and the Colorado Avalanche meet in NHL action from the Ball Arena on Monday night.
The Arizona Coyotes will be looking to build on their 5-2 win over Minnesota in their last matchup. Conor Garland leads the Coyotes in scoring with 22 points including 8 goals and 14 assists while Clayton Keller has 18 points with 8 goals and 10 assists. Jakob Chychrun and Christian Dvorak each have 17 points with Chychrun logging 6 goals with 11 assists while Dvorak has a team-high 9 goals with 8 assists. Phil Kessel and Nick Schmaltz each have 16 points with Kessel splitting 8 goals and 8 assists while Schmaltz is one goal behind with 7 goals and 9 apples. Darcy Kuemper has made 17 appearances got the Coyotes in goal, picking up 7 wins and a shutout and a 2.39 GAA this season.
The Colorado Avalanche will look to bounce back from a 5-4 loss to Anaheim in their last matchup. Mikko Rantanen leads the Avs in scoring with 24 points including 12 goals and 12 assists while Nathan MacKinnon has 22 points with a team-high 17 assists. Nazem Kadri and Sam Girard each have 17 points with 6 goals and 11 assists and Girard’s got 4 goals and 13 assists. Gabriel Landeskog has 15 points with 6 goals and 9 assists while Brandon Saad and Cale Makar each have 14 points with Saad adding 8 goals with 6 assists and Makar chipping in 13 assists. Andre Burakovsky and Joonas Donskoi each have 13 points apiece as well for the Avs this season. Philipp Grubauer’s started the bulk of the action for Colorado this season, going 12-6 with 3 shutouts and a 2.06 GAA in 18 appearances this season.
Arizona is 7-19 in their last 26 road games and 10-25 in their last 35 games following a win while the over is 6-1 in their last 7 games as a road underdog. Colorado is 20-8 in their last 28 games against a team with a losing record and 54-25 in their last 79 games played on 1 days rest while the under is 5-2 in their last 7 home games. Arizona is 0-4 in the last 4 meetings between these two teams and 0-6 in the last 6 meetings between the two in Colorado.
This is a steep price for a Colorado squad that just took a really bad loss to Anaheim last time out, but this seems like a nice bounce back spot against an Arizona team that they’ve had the number of over the years, winning the last 4 meetings and the last 6 meetings in Colorado. I’ll side with the Avalanche here and to get the price down, I’ll back Colorado on the PL to add some value.
