The Tampa Bay Lightning will hope to bounce back from a 3-2 shootout loss to Tampa Bay last time out. Steven Stamkos leads the Lightning in scoring with 51 points including a team-high 20 goals along with 31 assists while Victor Hedman also has 45 points with a team-high 36 assists as well this season. San Jose is 1-9 in their last 10 games as an underdog and 1-6 in their last 7 games as a road underdog while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 road games. Tampa Bay is 85-27 in their last 112 games against a team with a losing record and 45-18 in their last 63 home games while the over is 11-5 in their last 16 games overall.
I get the case to be made either way here, but I’m going to side with the Sharks +1.5 here. The Sharks just played a couple of the East’s best tough in Carolina and Florida, and lost a pair of one-goal games against those two teams. Tampa Bay won’t be easy and are the two-time defending cup champs for a reason, but I think this is just a spot for the Sharks to compete and eep Tampa Bay close so give me San Jose +1.5 here.
