Adrian Mannarino will meet Rinky Hijikata in the Round of 16 of the 2023 Hall of Fame Championships. The match will be played on Wednesday July 19th, 2023. 

Adrian Mannarino is the second seed here at the 2023 Hall of Fame Championships in Newport, and is ranked 38th in the world. He is coming off a Second Round exit at Wimbledon, where he lost in three tough sets to world number three Daniil Medvedev. Mannarino has been maddingly inconsistent throughout his career, but he has been his most consistent on the grass and is expected to do well here in Newport. His first opponent is the relatively inexperienced Rinky Hijikata and he is expected to advance here. 

Rinky Hijikata is unseeded here at the 2023 Hall of Fame Championships and is ranked 116th on the ATP Tour. The young Australian spends most of his time on the Challenger Tour, but plays some top level events from time to time. He had a solid win in the First Round here over Abedallah Shelbayh, winning 6-3, 6-4. While not possessing a huge serve, he used it well, winning 85% of his first service points and will need to do the same here against Adrian Mannarino, someone who returns well. 

Despite being one of the more inconsistent top 50 players on the Tour, Adrian Mannarino is generally very trustworthy on grass, and has some big wins throughout his career. Rinky Hijikata is a solid player but has nowhere near the experience needed to defeat a tricky opponent such as Mannarino, who will vary the pace of the ball and use every trick in the book.
