Antwerp Open: Karen Khachanov vs. Daniel Evans 10/23/20 Tennis Prediction
2020-10-23 10:00:00 EDT
Karen Khachanov meets Daniel Evans in the quarterfinals of the 2020 Antwerp Open on Friday, October 23rd 2020 in what is going to be a very tight and interesting encounter. Will Evans be able to reach the semifinals, or will Khachanov make it two semifinals in a row?
Karen Khachanov came through a very tight 3-set encounter in the second round against Bergs who put up a very strong fight. Khachanov lost the first set, however, he was able to maintain his composure and eventually come back to win the match. Khachanov knows he needs to improve his level and he knows that if he plays his best tennis he can definitely make the semifinals here in Antwerp. However, Khachanov cannot take Daniel Evans lightly as the brit is able to push opponents to their limits, especially with his superb one-handed backhand. Will Khachanov be able to improve here?
Daniel Evans beat Frances Tiafoe in two tight sets on Wednesday in what was a very up and down match for both players. Evans came through that match just because he was able to maintain his composure and he has been able to show us that he is probably the best British player out there at the moment. Evans will now have to bring his A-game as he faces no easy feat. Karen Khachanov is a very tough opponent, especially on these indoor hard courts and he will definitely bring the fight to the Brit. Will Evans be able to withstand the power of the Russian?
This is going to be the second meeting between both players and the head to head stands at 1-0 in favour of the Brit Daniel Evans. Although Evans won their only prior encounter, I believe Khachanov will win here. Khachanov has been playing the better tennis consistently as of late and he will be very motivated to reach his second semifinal in 2 weeks. Khachanov just needs to make sure he does not hand sets away easily and if his serve and forehand are strong, he should come out here and dominate this match.
