The British #1 had a strong but inconsistent win over Sebastian Baez in the Quarter-Finals, winning 6-2, 2-6, 6-1. After an outstanding first set he dropped the second quicky, making some uncharacteristic errors. He will have to be better if he wants to defeat the in-form Francisco Cerundolo, in a match that is looking like a toss-up.
Francisco Cerundolo is the fourth seed at the Lyon Open and is ranked 33rd in the world. The Argentine was able to claw his way to victory over Jack Draper in the Quarters, winning 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 in a match where he saw himself down a set and a break. Like his opponent Cameron Norrie, he will have to play much better tennis if he is to advance to the Final here in Lyon. Cerundolo has the tools to win this one, but it won't be easy.
This match is evenly poised in my opinion, and can go either way. Both men are equally capable of winning this match but I am going with Cameron Norrie here. He has the edge in experience, and he is the defending champion here at the Lyon Open. It almost certainly will go the distance and be extremely close, but give me the steadier head of Norrie to get the win here over Francisco Cerundolo, moving on to yet another Lyon Open Final.
