Carlos Alcaraz will meet Nicolas Jarry in the Third Round of the 2023 Wimbledon Championships. The match will be played on Saturday July 8th, 2023. 

World number one Carlos Alcaraz is the top seed here at the 2023 Wimbledon Championships and is one of the main contenders to lift the trophy. The Spaniard has had a rapidly gotten accustomed to this surface, and is playing like a true veteran despite his lack of experience. He defeated Alexandre Muller 6-4, 7-6, 6-3 in a solid yet erratic performance. The owner of a massive 42-4 record on the season, he has an immense amount of firepower but seems to be going for too much here, leading to numerous errors. He is simply too good to not figure it out quickly, and is the favorite here against the dangerous Nicolas Jarry. 

Nicolas Jarry is the 25th seed here at the 2023 Wimbledon Championships, and despite being relatively unknown to the average tennis fan, he is expected to pose a stern test to the world number one Carlos Alcaraz. Possessing a huge serve, he can dominate a match in a hurry, so Alcaraz will need to be at his best here. He was pushed to four sets by Jason Kubler in the fourth round, but used his serve to get him out of trouble and seal the victory. 

This will be the Spaniard’s toughest test so far here at the 2023 Wimbledon Championships, and I am a big fan of Nicolas Jarry’s game. However, Alcaraz is the best player in the world for a reason, and it is scary to think that he has only ever played a handful of matches on grass. Jarry will push him hard here and could even win a set, but expect Carlos Alcaraz to use every ounce of his willpower and firepower to win this match in the end.
