Carlos Alcaraz will meet Novak Djokovic in the Final of the 2023 Wimbledon Championships. The match will be played on Sunday July 16th, 2023.

The top two players in the world, Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic will meet in a blockbuster Wimbledon Final that the whole world has been anticipating. They have been the two best players in this tournament by a good margin, and this is shaping up to be one of the best Finals of all time. Who will get the win and become the 2023 Wimbledon Champion?

Carlos Alcaraz is the top ranked player in the world, and is going for his first ever Wimbledon title, and second Grand Slam title overall. While he is quite inexperienced on grass, he has adapted remarkably well, and has a very good chance of going all the way here. He defeated Daniil Medvedev 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 in the Semis in a dominant performance, serving bombs and covering the court extremely well. In this type of form he simply cannot be ignored, and he will be a serious roadblock in the path of Novak Djokovic in his quest for Grand Slam title #24.

Novak Djokovic is a seven time champion here at Wimbledon, and is aiming to extend his all-time Grand Slam title record to 24. The second seed has been in impeccable for so far at this year’s championships, losing three sets en route to the Final, to Hurkacz, Rublev and Sinner. While he did drop those sets, he never seemed to be in real danger of losing any of the matches, and has been using his typical controlled aggression and counter-punching skills to great effect. He does not have the raw power nor the speed of Carlos Alcaraz, but his experience and resilience are unmatched and he enters this match as the betting favorite.

I expect a cracker of a match, between youth and experience. It is difficult to continue referring to Carlos Alcaraz as “youth”, since he plays a very mature brand of tennis, far beyond his years. If he is serving well and connecting to his groundstrokes well, he will be very difficult to defeat. However, Novak Djokovic has been defying logic for his entire career, and is like a brick wall late in Grand Slams. Carlos Alcaraz has almost unlimited upside, but Wimbledon has been a fortress for Djokovic in recent years, and I see him getting the win here. It almost definitely will go to four or five sets, and will make for incredible for viewing, but give me experience here, with Novak Djokovic lifting the trophy at the 2023 Wimbledon Championships, and becoming a Grand Slam champion for the 24th time.
