Casper Ruud will meet Sebastian Ofner in the Quarter-Finals of the 2023 Swedish Open. The match will be played on Friday July 21st, 2023. 

World number five Casper Ruud is the top seed here at the 2023 Swedish Open. He is the defending champion here and is the favorite to claim this year’s title. After a First Round bye, he got past Alexander Shevchenko 6-2, 6-4 without much trouble and will be favored yet again against Sebastian Ofner in the Quarter-Finals. His aggressive game style make him almost unstoppable on clay, especially at this level and he is expected to overpower Ofner here. 

Sebastian Ofner is ranked 58th in the world and is unseeded here at the 2023 Swedish Open. The Austrian upset 6th seeded Tomas Etcheverry in the First Round before being pushed to the limit in the Round of 16 by Bernabe Zapata Miralles, winning 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. While he has found success limited at this level, he has been in great form in Challenger tournaments, winning a title recently. This is a big step up in quality though, and he is the massive underdog against Casper Ruud here. 

Casper Ruud is simply too good for Sebastian Ofner, especially on this surface and I expect the result to reflect this. Ruud has struggled lately, and will be looking to rebound after losing in the Second Round at Wimbledon. He generally cleans up at this ATP 250 events, and I see nothing stopping him here.
