Daniil Medvedev will meet Adrian Mannarino in the Round of 16 at the 2023 Libema Open. The match will be played on Thursday June 15th, 2023 at 6:30am EST. 

Top seeded Daniil Medvedev is also ranked #3 on the ATP Tour, and he is one of the leading candidates for the title here at the Libema Open. The Russian has been in incredible form in 2023, winning an ATP-leading 39 matches and claiming five titles. However, he enters this event on the back of a disappointing First Round loss at Roland Garros, surprisingly being upset by Thiago Wild. Last year’s finalist here at the Libema Open gets his campaign started against the tricky Adrian Mannarino. 

Adrian Mannarino is unseeded here at the Libema Open and is ranked 52nd in the world. With a disappointing 14-12 record on the season, he is back on a surface that he loves and will be hoping to defend his title here. He has a tricky Round of 16 match against world number three Daniil Medvedev, but leads the head to head 3-2 and will be confident here. A win over the talented Arthur Fils in the First Round will have regained some of his confidence and he will be backing himself here. 

This usually would not be a tough match for Daniil Medvedev, but on grass is where Adrian Mannarino really shines. He takes the ball very early and his flat groundstrokes make things very difficult for his opponents, despite his relative lasck of firepower. Even though he is behind in the head to head, I expect Daniil Medvedev to win this one. His serve should give him plenty of free points, and Mannarino has not looked as good as he usually does this year. It’ll be a very tricky match, but give me the Russian to win in three sets, moving to the Quarter-Finals.
