Daniil Medvedev will meet Christopher Eubanks in the Quarter-Finals of the 2023 Wimbledon Championships. The match will be played on Wednesday July 12th, 2023. 

Third seeded and world number three Daniil Medvedev is the massive favorite on paper here against Christopher Eubanks at the 2023 Wimbledon Championships. It is not everyday that you meet an unseeded player for a chance to reach the Semi-Finals at a Grand Slam, but Eubanks is not playing like a regular unseeded player, but a seasoned veteran. Medvedev was in cruise control against Jiri Lehecka in the Round of 16, leading 6-4, 6-2 when his opponent retired. While he isn’t the greatest mover on the surface, his huge serve and inpenetratable defence make him a very difficult opponent and he is the favorite to advance here. 

Christopher Eubanks has been having a fairytale season so far in 2023, reaching his maiden Masters-1000 Quarter-Final in Miami and claiming a first ATP title in Mallorca. His dynamic game has been a revelation here at the 2023 Wimbledon Championships, most notably upsetting fifth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in five sets in the Round of 16. It was the biggest win so far in his career and he is honestly not looking like slowing down, despite being the big underdog here against Daniil Medvedev. 

I am going against the grain here and predicting yet another upset for Christopher Eubanks. While he has nowhere near the experience of his opponent Daniil Medvedev, especially this late in a slam, his game seems tailor-made for this surface and he has been serving as good as anyone can. It will be a battle and Medvedev will push him to the limit, but I am backing the American to win the biggest match of his life and reach the Semi-Finals here at the 2023 Wimbledon Championships.
