Daniil Medvedev will meet Marton Fucsovics in the Third Round of the 2023 Wimbledon Championships. The match will be played on Saturday July 8th, 2023. 

Daniil Medvedev is the third seed here at the 2023 Wimbledon Championships and is ranked third on the ATP Tour. The Russian is not known for his grass court capabilities, but he certainly has the game for it and has looked good so far here at Wimbledon. He is yet to drop a set, defeating both Arthur Fery and Adrian Mannarino in straight sets. The win over Mannarino was particularly impressive since he recently lost to him at the Rosmalen Open, with the Frenchman in red-hot grass court form. Medvedev has been serving lights out, and if this continues he will be a dark horse candidate for the title. 

Marton Fucsovics is unseeded here at the 2023 Wimbledon Championships and is ranked 67th in the world. While he is a very dangerous player with bags of talent and firepower, his inconsistency throughout his career has been maddening. On a good day he has the game to fully push Daniil Medvedev, but he starts this match as the massive underdog. Like Medvedev, he has been simply crushing it with his serve, hitting 21 aces across his two wins over Tallon Griekspoor and Marcos Giron. However, he has hit a whopping 15 double faults also, negating the aces and this is something that will have to drastically improve if he is to challenge the Russian here. 

This should be smooth sailing for Daniil Medvedev. He is not yet much of a grass court player but he has been much improved this season, and his serve can be dominant on the quicker surface. Marton Fucsovics is simply too inconsistent and erratic to push the top players and I expect him to go down in straight sets here at the 2023 Wimbledon Championships.
