Holger Rune will meet Lorenzo Musetti in the Quarter-Finals of the 2023 Queen’s Championships. The match will be played on Friday June 23rd, 2023. 

Holger Rune is the second seed here at the 2023 Queen’s Championships and is ranked 6th in the world. The budding superstar has been outstanding this season, and even though he has only played five matches at this level on grass, he seems like he is adapting quite well. He cruised past Ryan Peniston 6-3, 6-4 to set up this clash with another exciting young player, Lorenzo Musetti. He served extremely well against Peniston, never being broken and if that continues, along with his booming groundstrokes, he will be tough to beat. 

Lorenzo Musetti is the 6th seed here at the 2023 Queen’s Championships and like his opponent Holger Rune is one of the best young talents on the ATP Tour. The world number 16 defeated Ben Shelton in a blockbuster, needing three sets to get past the American. At one point it seemed like the match was getting out of hand, but he reeled his unforced errors in and was abe to get the win. Unexpectedly composed on grass, this is his second straight Quarter-Final on the surface after Stuttgart last week, and even though he is the underdog here, he has a bit more grass experience and will make it challenging. 

I am looking forward to this one between two of the brightest young stars that the ATP Tour have to offer. Despite his young age, Lorenzo Musetti has more grass experience, and has played more matches on the surface this season. However, I cannot ignore the sheer upside of Holger Rune, and the way he wills himself to win from impossible situations. I think it will be a close one, but give me Rune to win the baseline battle and reach his first ever grass court Semi-Final here at the 2023 Queen’s Championships.
