Rune is known for losing his focus at times, and this is not someone that you can afford to do that against.

Maxime Cressy is unseeded here at the 2023 Australian Open and is ranked 41st in the world. He had a solid season last year, and is primed to improve on that this season. His unique serve and volley game makes it very difficult for his opponents, and he rushes the net at every opportunity. Holger Rune should win this match, but it is very difficult to predict Maxime Cressy matches. It all comes down to how well Rune returns, and if he is able to keep his focus throughout the match. He can be a bit hot-headed at times, but he is too good to let anything bother him for too long. Expect a battle with at least a couple tie-breakers, but back Rune to win in the end. Cressy seems a good bet to win a set, or at least cover the overs in games played.
