Jan-Lennard Struff will meet Richard Gasquet in the Quarter-Finals of the 2023 Stuttgart Open. The match will be played on Friday June 16th, 2023. 

World number 24 Jan-Lennard Struff is unseeded here at the 2023 Stuttgart Open, showing the quality of the field. Never the less, the German has stormed into the Quarter-Finals, defeating 5th seed Tommy Paul in a tough battle, 7-6, 7-6. Struff served extremely well, only being broken once and he will need his serve to be firing on all cylinders against the veteran Richard Gasquet. He had a more comfortable win over Zhang in the First Round and has a real opportunity to reach the Semi-Finals at home. 

Richard Gasquet is also unseeded here at the 2023 Stuttgart Open and has really turned the clock back with an incredible upset win over Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Round of 16. Not many, if anyone would have predicted that result, with the experienced Frenchman coming from behind to defeat the top seed with a clinical display of grass-court tennis. While he has had more success on the other surfaces, he has won three titles on grass and will be a serious threat here. 

Richard Gasquet is the better grass-court player throughout their careers, but there is no denying that Struff has been much better over the past few years. The German has played some great tennis this season, and even though his grass record isn’t the greatest, he has a huge serve and groundstrokes and volleys well, which can be a recipe for success. I expect Gasquet to push him to the limit, but he will likely run out of gas eventually, with Jan-Lennard Struff eventually claiming victory, moving on to the Semi-Finals here at the 2023 Stuttgart Open.
