Will Barbora continue her amazing form as she looks to back up her win at the French Open earlier this month from out of nowhere, or will Clara Tauson be able to shock us all early on and get a big win in her career to make a name for herself?

Barbora Krejcikova has had a great run this month and she will be able to have more confidence in her game now that she is a singles grand slam champion. Barbora will come out here ready to give it her best and see if she can potentially have another underdog run. Barbora is so fun to watch when she is in form, but also in the doubles, and I wonder whether these two weeks her main focus will be on the singles, or whether she will be able to manage both the doubles and the singles as she did so well in France.

Clara Tauson is not a known player, focusing on small tournamentsto get her points and winnings. Clara will not be very happy with her side of the draw, knowing that even if she is able to cause one upset early on, she will have to meet even tougher opponents afterwards. Clara will have to be at her best right from the start, but she has not played well on grass this year, therefore I am not sure if she can even get anything going her way if she is at her best against the very tough Barbora Krejcikova.

This is going to be the 1^st meeting between both players, and I don’t see Clara getting much under her belt here. Clara will know that, so perhaps she will be playing somewhat freely, but even if she is, her level will not be enough to stop the in form and confident Barbora Krejcikova. Barbora will know she cannot waste time on court early on to save energy for doubles and for later stage matches, so she will come out here and get this win under her belt easily to make her way to the second round.
