The Las Vegas Aces and Los Angeles Sparks meet Sunday in WNBA action at the crypto.com Arena. Here’s a Sparks vs. Aces Prediction. This article will include a Sparks vs. Aces Pick.

Las Vegas Aces Betting Preview

The Las Vegas Aces need a win after losing their season opener yesterday to the Mercury. The Aces haven’t started a season 0-2 since 2018.

The Las Vegas Aces are averaging 66 points on 40.8 percent shooting and allowing 99 points on 49.4 percent shooting. A’ja Wilson is averaging 19 points and 4 rebounds, while Jackie Young is averaging 12 points and 6 rebounds. NaLyssa Smith is the third double-digit scorer and Chennedy Carter is dishing 2 assists. The Las Vegas Aces are shooting 21.1 percent from beyond the arc and 50 percent from the free throw line. The Las Vegas Aces are allowing 45.8 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 35 rebounds per game.

Los Angeles Sparks Betting Preview

The Sparks won 21 games last season and enter the second season under coach Lynne Roberts. The Sparks haven’t made the playoffs since 2020 under coach Derek Fisher.

There’s reason to be excited about the Sparks, as they showed promise last season and won games despite being horrible defensively. Kelsey Plum is an elite playmaking guard, and the additions of Nneka Ogwumike and Ariel Atkins bolster this roster into the more serious tier. We’ll also see Cameron Brink, which adds rim protection and length, which obviously will improve the defense. This should be the year the Sparks snap their playoff drought, and they have a chance to make an early statement in this game here.

Why the Los Angeles Sparks will win

  • The Sparks have won four of their last six games as underdogs against Western Conference opponents.
  • The Aces have failed to cover the spread in each of their last six games as road favorites following a home loss.
  • The Sparks have covered the spread in each of their last three day games against the Aces.

The Aces will be without Dana Evans due to a leg injury.

Sparks vs Aces Prediction

This feels like a spot where the Aces will bounce back. Embarrassed on ring night, you know the Aces will be focused and eager to get a nasty taste out of their mouth. I also like teams that had a chance to get the jitters out of the way against a team making their season debut. However, we saw the Aces start last season slow, so it’s not that big of a surprise. We also don’t see back-to-backs often in the WNBA so getting one of the gates could create a fatigue factor. These players are still getting in a rhythm.

And of course the Sparks have a good roster capable of hanging with the contenders, and I expect a packed house and high energy. This is a chance for the Sparks to set the tone. An Aces blowout wouldn’t surprise me, but I’ll grab the points with the Sparks. LA has a solid team that will be bringing value as a dog.
