The San Antonio Spurs will look to beat the Denver Nuggets for the second time this week to extend their winning streak to 16 games. This is the third and final meeting between the teams, and the Spurs could sweep the Nuggets win a win.
The Spurs have yet to lose a game in the month of March and haven’t lost a game since February 21. During this massive winning streak, the Spurs are winning by an average of 15 points per game. On the season, the Spurs average 105.4 points on 48.8 percent shooting and allow 97.6 points on 44.4 percent shooting. Just during the Spurs last five games, they’re averaging 108.8 points and giving up 94.4 points. Tim Duncan has posted two double doubles in his last four games. The San Antonio Spurs are 38-33 ATS overall and 22-13 ATS on the road.

The Nuggets have lost three of their last four games, including a 108-103 loss to the Spurs on Wednesday. On the season, the Nuggets average 103.8 points on 44.7 percent shooting and allow 106 points on 45.5 percent shooting. The Nuggets defense has given them issues all season long, as they’ve allowed 100 or more points in six straight games and are 5-5 SU in their last 10 win allowing 100-plus points. Offensively, Kenneth Faried has scored 20 or more points twice in his last three matchups. The Denver Nuggets are 33-39 ATS overall and 15-20 ATS at home.
The Spurs are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games. The Nuggets are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games overall. The Spurs are 20-8 ATS in the last 28 meetings in Denver, but are just 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings vs. the Nuggets overall.
While this is a lot of points to lay on the road, I can’t pick against the Spurs until they start to cool off. The Spurs are not only winning SU at an incredible pace, but they’ve covered eight of their last nine games.
I’ll continue to ride this money train until it stops paying.
