The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays meet Saturday in MLB action from Rogers Centre. Here’s a Toronto Blue Jays vs LA Dodgers prediction. This will be the second installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the game.

Los Angeles Dodgers Betting Preview

The Dodgers played the Washington Nationals in their early-week series. Los Angeles played well in that set, bagging a three game sweep with wins 4-1, 11-2 and 2-1. On Friday in the opener versus the Blue Jays, the Dodgers came away with a 12-2 victory thanks to a whopping 19 team hits. Starter Gavin Stone lasted 7.0 frames with one earned on two hits and two walks.

For the starter role in the Saturday game two, the Dodgers will send out Tyler Glasnow. This year in his six starts Glasnow is 4-1 with a 2.92 ERA and 44 Ks in 37.0 innings. Glasnow is 34-28 with a 3.83 ERA in 133 career games (94 starts).

Toronto Blue Jays Betting Preview

Over on the Blue Jays’ side, they took on the Kansas City Royals in their last series. Toronto managed just one win in four games there, taking a 5-3 victory on Monday before three straight losses. In the Friday game, the Jays gave up six runs in the third inning alone. Chris Bassitt lasted 2.2 frames in the start with seven earned on nine hits and three walks.

It’ll be Yusei Kikuchi in the starting pitcher role on Saturday for the Blue Jays. So far this year Kikuchi is 2-1 with a 2.28 ERA in five starts. He’s got 33 Ks in 27.2 innings. Kikuchi has a 34-38 career record with a 4.61 ERA in 139 games (127 starts).

Dodgers vs Blue Jays Injury Notes

Dodgers SP Walker Buehler gave up three earned (five runs total) on seven hits and two walks with five Ks over four-plus innings in a rehab start on Wednesday with Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The Blue Jays placed SP Bowden Francis on the 15-day Injured List Thursday due to right forearm extensor tendinitis.

Toronto Blue Jays Team Facts

  • The road team has covered the run line in each of the last six games between the Dodgers and Blue Jays.
  • The Blue Jays have led after 3 innings in each of their last four day games against National League opponents that held a winning record.
  • The ‘Inning 1 OVER 0.5 runs’ market has hit in each of the Blue Jays’ last seven games against National League opponents.
  • The Blue Jays have lost the first inning in each of their last three games.

Los Angeles Dodgers Team Facts

  • The Dodgers have failed to cover the run line in each of their last eight day games following a win.
  • The Dodgers have trailed after 5 innings in four of their last six games as favorites against American League opponents.
  • The Dodgers have trailed after 3 innings in four of their last six games as favorites against American League opponents.

Toronto Blue Jays vs LA Dodgers Prediction

I’ll probably stay with the Dodgers here. I could go either way, though; we should have a fun starter matchup if nothing else. Glasnow is coming off a nice 8.0-inning victory over the Mets in his last start, giving up zero earned on seven hits and no walks. Glasnow coughed up six earned in 5.0 innings in his previous start, though. As for Kikuchi, he’s pitching well right now with just four combined earned runs in 18.0 innings over his last three starts.

On Friday in the opener, the Dodgers got home runs from Shohei Ohtani, Will Smith and Max Muncy. Seven RBI would come along with those blasts. The Los Angeles bullpen should be in great shape Saturday following a nice pitching performance. I like the Dodgers to keep it up in game two.
