The Houston Rockets and the Minnesota Timberwolves collide at the Target Center on Sunday night. Here’s a Rockets vs Timberwolves Prediction.
Houston Rockets
The Houston Rockets have been in decent shape as they’ve split their last eight games and they will be looking to build some momentum after making light work of the struggling Raptors in a 135-106 home win on Friday. Cam Whitmore led the team in scoring with 25 points in just 21 minutes off the bench, Alperen Sengun added 24 points with 13 rebounds and eight assists while Ausar Thompson chipped in with 19 points, seven rebounds and four assists. As a team, the Rockets shot 59 percent from the field and 11 of 31 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates with 37 points in the first quarter to take the early lead, before they poured in another 36 points in the third quarter to run away with it in a blowout.
Minnesota Timberwolves
Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been in decent form as they’ve won four of their past six games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back here after coming up painfully short to the Magic in a 108-106 loss on Friday. Rudy Gobert led the team with 22 points, 16 rebounds and two blocks, Anthony Edwards added 22 points with five assists while Karl-Anthony Towns chipped in with 19 points. As a team, the Timberwolves shot 46 percent from the field and 12 of 38 from the 3-point line, as they set the tone with 38 points in the first quarter to take an early 17-point lead, but they never put the Magic away and it cost them as they managed just 18 points in the fourth quarter to fall short in the end.

- The Rockets have failed to cover the spread in nine of their last 10 road games against Northwest Division opponents.
- Each of the Rockets’ last four road games against Western Conference opponents have gone UNDER the total points line.
Rockets vs Timberwolves Prediction
The Rockets are still missing Tari Eason, while the Timberwolves are keeping an eye on Rudy Gobert who is questionable with a sprained left ankle. The Rockets haven’t been at their best lately, but they would’ve taken plenty of confidence from their massive win over the Raptors on Friday, while the Timberwolves were on a nice run before they got stopped in their tracks by the Magic in their last outing. These two teams last met on Jan 5 and it was the Timberwolves who romped to a 122-95 win, so while I’m expecting a much closer contest, I still think the Timberwolves get the win and cover at home.
