The Le Moyne Dolphins and the Penn State Nittany Lions meet Thursday in college basketball action from Bryce Jordan Center. Le Moyne is currently 5-7 on the year and fresh off a win over Houghton. As for Penn State, they’ve lost six of their last seven games to slip to 5-6 overall, most recently falling to Georgia Tech in overtime. Let’s get into our Le Moyne vs. Penn State prediction. Le Moyne Dolphins 

The Dolphins were only able to win three of their first seven games this year, taking out SUNY-Canton, CSU Northridge and Fredonia State alongside losses to Georgetown, Villanova, San Diego, UC Santa Barbara, Pacific, Army and Binghamton. Le Moyne bounced back with wins in the next pair over Dartmouth and Houghton, though. 

In Monday’s win over Houghton, the Dolphins took a nine-point lead into the second half. Le Moyne added a 53-42 run from there and bagged the victory 92-72. Ocypher Owens was the team’s leading scorer on 26 points and five boards. Kaiyem Cleary added 19 points with five rebounds as well. 

Penn State Nittany Lions

Over on the Nittany Lions’ side, they started off well with four straight wins over Delaware State, Lehigh, St Francis PA and Morehead State. Penn State would fall to Texas A&M, Butler, VCU, Bucknell and Maryland in the next five games before getting another win 83-80 over Ohio State, though. 

Penn State fell back into the loss column in their last matchup versus Georgia Tech. This one was close though, as the Nittany Lions were outscored 10-9 in overtime for an 82-81 finish. Kanye Clary was the leading scorer in the losing effort with 23 points, seven rebounds and three assists. 

ANDREW’S FREE LE MOYNE VS PENN STATE PREDICTION 

I’ll stick with Penn State. Probably not touching this one, though. The Nittany Lions are coming off a tough (and somewhat controversial) finish versus Georgia Tech in their last game. Penn State didn’t shoot great in that one (39.2 percent) and got out-rebounded 54-32 but had just six turnovers to the Jackets’ 17. The good news is that the Lions have scored 75 or more points in three straight games (two overtimes) and shouldn’t have too many issues putting up points on Le Moyne. The Dolphins have given up 68 or more points in three of their last four games to teams that don’t boast as much talent as Penn State does. I like a Lions cover in this one if all goes well.
