The Miami Hurricanes are 6-2 (2-2) this year after they lost to SMU in overtime by a score of 26-20 last week. Miami led 10-7 at halftime and 20-17 late in the fourth quarter, but they ended up in overtime and picked up the loss. The Hurricanes out gained SMU by a total of 433-388, went 7-16 on third downs, and lost the turnover battle by a total of 2-1 in the game. Carson Beck went 26-38 for 274 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions, while Mark Fletcher Jr rushed 16 times for 84 yards. Joseph Filardi went 4-18 for 39 yards, while Yasin Willis rushed 15 times for 66 yards. Darius Johnson led the receivers with one catch for 25 yards in the loss. The Syracuse defense recorded zero sacks and five tackles for loss in the game. 

Prior to that game, Syracuse lost to Georgia Tech by a score of 41-16 and Pittsburgh by a score of 30-13. Miami comes into this matchup after a very disappointing loss last week against SMU, but they should bounce back here. Syracuse has lost five games in a row and their offense has been horrible, as they have scored 18 points or fewer in all five losses. The Orange have had a very tough time throwing the ball since their starter got hurt, so I don’t expect much from them here.
