Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Cleveland Guardians
May 26, 2025 6:10 pm EDT

Major League Baseball presents Draftkings baseball fans with a National League matchup featuring the Cleveland Guardians and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Let’s take a look at this MLB game from a DFS perspective.

Before we dive into the Cleveland Guardians vs. Los Angeles Dodgers game let’s review the rules for the Draftkings MLB single game showdown contest.

Draftkings Single Game Showdown Contest Rules

You have $50,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team captain. The captain accumulates 1.5 times the standard fantasy points. Additionally, the captain is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.

The remaining four players in your lineup will receive the standard fantasy points. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your captain position if you hope to win a large field DFS GPP (guaranteed prize pool) showdown contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game showdown contest, I recommend that you check out the Draftkings website for more details.

*I recommend that all readers review the starting lineups for both teams prior to setting your DFS lineup for this one game slate.

Here are my Draftkings picks for tomorrow night’s Dodgers vs. Guardians matchup.

Draftkings MLB Showdown Picks

Captain-Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Starting Pitcher, Los Angeles Dodgers $12,000

On Monday night, Major League Baseball presents the opening game of a three-game interleague series featuring the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Cleveland Guardians.

How are these two teams playing entering this interleague game? The Los Angeles Dodgers are playing good baseball entering tomorrow’s matchup with the Cleveland Guardians. More specifically, the Dodgers have won three of the team’s last five games played in the 2025 MLB regular season, including a 4-3 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks earlier this week.

Similar to the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Cleveland Guardians are playing well entering tomorrow evening’s contest. The Guardians have won four of the team’s last five games played this season, including a 7-0 shutout win over the Detroit Tigers three days ago.

Now that we have identified how both of these teams are currently playing let’s turn our attention to tonight’s contest. Starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto has certainly been an essential part of the Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitching rotation this season. With that said, how has Yamamoto performed from a statistical perspective in 2025? Let’s review the veteran pitcher’s relevant game data from the 2025 MLB regular season to answer that question.

Through ten starts made in 2025, Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto has compiled a 5-3 (win-loss record) and a 1.86 ERA (Earned Run Average) which ranks seventh in MLB. Additionally, Yamamoto has tallied a 0.91 WHIP (Walks and Hits per Innings Pitched), 68 strikeouts while allowing 18 walks in 58.1 innings pitched this season.

More recently, in the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-3 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks five days ago, Los Angeles starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched exceptionally well. Let me be more specific. Yamamoto pitched seven quality innings while scattering one hit and two walks in the Dodgers win over the Diamondbacks.

In my view, Yoshinobu Yamamoto is the most likely player to post the most Draftkings points in this MLB regular season game. Having stated that, I am backing Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto at the captain position for this one game MLB DFS slate.

Flex plays I like to play well in this MLB regular season game (Draftkings price noted): Gavin Williams, Starting Pitcher (Cleveland Guardians) $10,600: Shohei Ohtani, Outfielder (Los Angeles Dodgers) $9,800: Jose Ramirez, Third Baseman (Cleveland Guardians) $9,400.
