FanDuel MLB DFS Picks: Phillies vs. Brewers 9/4/25
Philadelphia Phillies vs. Milwaukee Brewers
September 4, 2025 4:10 pm EDT
Major League Baseball presents FanDuel baseball fans with a National League matchup featuring the Philadelphia Phillies and the Milwaukee Brewers. Let’s take a look at this MLB game from a DFS perspective.
Before we dive into the Philadelphia Phillies vs. Milwaukee Brewers game let’s review the rules for the FanDuel single game showdown contest.
FanDuel Single Game Contest Rules
Here are the FanDuel single game contest rules. You have $60,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team MVP. The MVP accumulates 1.5x times the standard FanDuel fantasy points value. Additionally, the MVP is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.
The remaining five players in your lineup will be flex plays. The five flex positions will receive the standard FanDuel points value. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your MVP position if you hope to win a large field GPP (guaranteed prize pool) FanDuel single game contest.
If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game contest, I highly recommend that you check out the FanDuel website for more details.
*It should be noted that FanDuel does not utilize the pitcher position in single game MLB contests. Having stated that, only batters are available for single game MLB lineups on the FanDuel platform.
Here are my FanDuel picks for this afternoon’s Phillies vs. Brewers matchup.
FanDuel MLB DFS Picks
MVP-Sal Frelick, Outfielder, Milwaukee Brewers $8,800
On Thursday afternoon, Major League Baseball presents the final game of a three-game National League series featuring the Philadelphia Phillies and the Milwaukee Brewers.
How are these two teams playing entering today’s MLB game? The Philadelphia Phillies arrive at the third game of this three-game series with the Milwaukee Brewers playing good baseball. The Phillies have won five of the team’s last six games played in the 2025 MLB regular season, including a dominant 19-4 win over the Atlanta Braves last week.
Conversely, the Milwaukee Brewers arrive at the third game of this National League series playing below average baseball. Let me be more specific. The Brewers have lost five of the team’s last seven games played this season, including an 8-4 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays five days ago.
Now that we have ascertained how both of these teams are currently playing let’s shift our focus to today’s contest. Outfielder Sal Frelick has certainly been a solid contributor for the Milwaukee Brewers this season. Having stated that, how has the Frelick performed from a statistical standpoint? Let’s examine Frelick’s relevant game data from the 2025 MLB regular to better shed light on the veteran outfielder’s overall contributions to his team.
In the 123 games that Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick has played in the 2025 MLB regular season, Frelick has compiled a .298 batting average, ten home runs, 40 walks, 54 RBIs (runs batted in), 18 stolen bases and 65 runs scored.
More recently, in the Arizona Diamondbacks 6-4 win over the Milwaukee Brewers last month, Sal Frelick tallied two hits (one home run), one RBI and one walk.
What did we learn from the data just presented? Clearly, Sal Frelick can post a high number of DFS points on any given night. With that said, I fully expect that trend to continue in this evening’s matchup with the Philadelphia Phillies.
In my view, Sal Frelick’s reasonable FanDuel price of only $8,800 presents the best fantasy value on this slate. For that specific reason, I am backing Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Sal Frelick at the MVP position for this one game MLB DFS slate.
Flex plays I like to play well in this evening’s MLB regular season game (FanDuel price noted): Brice Turang, Second Baseman (Milwaukee Brewers) $9,800: Bryson Stott, Second Baseman (Philadelphia Phillies) $6,200.
