This week, the PGA Tour travels to Mississippi for the Sanderson Farms Championship.
Before I discuss my favorite golf bet for this week’s PGA Tour event let’s take a quick look at the golf course the field will play and the key player statistics that I think are the most vital to a player’s success this week.
The Sanderson Farms Championship will be played at the Country Club of Jackson. This track is a par 72 that measures approximately 7,461 yards. This track can best be described as a resort-style golf course. Due to the fact this is a resort course, you can expect that the course will be vulnerable to low scores this week. This golf course also features champion bermuda grass greens.
The key statistics I will be looking at this week are strokes gained putting, GIR (greens in regulation), strokes gained ball striking, and birdie or better percentage.

Since the beginning of July, Denny McCarthy has played six tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those six events just mentioned, McCarthy has accumulated four top 28 finishes, including a sixth place result at the 2022 John Deere Classic.
In relation to this week’s current listed Sanderson Farms Championship field, in the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, Denny McCarthy ranks seventh in strokes gained putting, fourth in strokes gained around the green, and 11th in bogey avoidance.
It should also be noted that Denny McCarthy finished sixth at the 2020 Sanderson Farms Championship.
