The San Diego Padres and Atlanta Braves meet Wednesday in a MLB doubleheader at Truist Park. The Padres look for a win after splitting their last four games. The Braves look for a win after splitting their last four games.

The San Diego Padres have scored 18 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in three of their last four games. The Padres have won six of their last nine games when scoring four or more runs. Jake Cronenworth leads the Padres with 100 hits and 40 RBI while Manny Machado and Eric Hosmer have combined for 171 hits and 112 RBI. Chris Paddack and Reiss Knehr take the mound tonight for the Padres.

The Atlanta Braves have scored 16 runs in their last three games and four or more runs in three of their last four games. The Braves have won five of their last eight games when scoring four or more runs. Freddie Freeman leads the Braves with 98 hits and 55 RBI while Ozzie Albies and Austin Riley have combined for 180 hits and 108 RBI. Kyle Muller and Charlie Morton take the mound tonight for the Braves.

The Padres are 6-14 in their last 20 road games. The Braves are 2-5 in their last 7 Wednesday games. The over is 8-3 in Padres last 11 overall. The over is 5-1 in Braves last 6 overall. The Padres are 16-35 in the last 51 meetings in Atlanta and 7-19 in the last 26 meetings.

Game One Pick: Chris Paddack has been god awful in the month of July, allowing 22 hits and 16 earned runs in 16 innings. Kyle Muller has had a short sample size this season, but he’s been rather solid and certainly better than what Paddack has shown. Give me the Braves in game 1.

Game Two Pick: Reiss Knehr has just 3.2 big league innings under his belt and we need to see a larger sample size before backing him with confidence. Charlie Morton has been one of the better pitchers for the Braves this season and he’s allowed a combined 10 runs in his last six starts. The Braves have a clear edge in game two on the mound.
