The Seattle Mariners and the Oakland A’s meet in an AL West division matchup in MLB action from RingCentral Coliseum on Tuesday night.

The Seattle Mariners will look to build on their 4-2 win over Oakland from Monday night’s matchup. Kyle Seager had three hits with a double and three RBIs while Ty France added an RBI as well to finish off Oakland’s scoring as a team in the win. J.P. Crawford and Mitch Haniger each had two hits with a double with Haniger adding a pair of doubles to the cause. Tom Murphy and Dylan Moore each had hits as well to finish off Seattle’s offense as a team in the victory. Tyler Anderson got the win to improve to 7-9 on the year after allowing one run on four hits with seven K’s over seven innings of work. Paul Sewald closed the last 1.2 innings for his 9th save. Marco Gonzales will start here and is 8-5 with a 4.05 ERA and 95 strikeouts this season.

The Oakland A’s will look to rebound from their frustrating loss to Seattle on Monday. Khris Davis had a double with an RBI and Starling Marte added an RBI of his own to finish off the scoring for the A’s in the losing effort. Chad Pinder had a double and Elvis Andrus had a pair of hits while Yan Gomes and Josh Harrison each had hits as well to end the offense for Oakland in the losing effort. Sean Manaea took the loss, falling to 10-10 on the year after allowing four runs on eight hits with three strikeouts over five innings of work. Paul Blackburn will start here and is 1-2 with a 4.94 ERA and 18 strikeouts this season.

Seattle is 9-3 in their last 12 road games and 22-45 in their last 67 Tuesday games while the over is 6-0-1 in their last 7 games as an underdog. Oakland is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall and 82-38 in their last 120 games against a left-handed starter while the under is 3-0-1 in their last 4 games as a favorite.

I get the case that can be made for Oakland at home, but I’m not a Paul Blackburn fan and I think these games mean just a bit more to Seattle as the A’s are a team they have to overtake if they’re going to have any chance at crashing the wild card party. Marco Gonzales is a gamer, as this guy always battles when he takes the mound and I think he helps the Mariners pick up a second win over Oakland in as many days.
