The Chicago White Sox and Houston Astros square off Tuesday afternoon in Game 4 of the MLB ALDS from Guaranteed Rate Field in Chicago, Illinois. This game was originally scheduled for Monday but was pushed back due to weather. The Astros took the opener 6-1 Thursday and followed up with a 9-4 win Friday. In the Saturday game the Sox struck back with a comeback victory to stay alive in the series. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Houston didn’t have a whole lot of trouble in the opener Thursday, cruising to a 6-1 win. The Astros followed that up with a 9-4 Friday win. On Sunday, Houston had a brief 5-1 lead in the third but struggled from there in an eventual 12-6 defeat. Starter Luis Garcia put up 2.2 innings with five earned on five hits and three walks.

For Tuesday’s matchup the Astros will send out Lance McCullers. This regular season McCullers posted a 13-5 record with a 3.16 ERA and 185 Ks in 162.1 innings over 28 starts.

Over on the White Sox’ side, they had a brief 4-2 lead in the Friday game but then coughed up seven runs over the next three frames. In the Sunday game three, Chicago exploded for eight runs across the third and fourth innings during the win. Dylan Cease managed 1.2 innings with three earned on two hits and three walks in the start.

For the starting pitcher slot in the Tuesday game four, the White Sox will send out Carlos Rodon. This regular season Rodon went 13-5 with a 2.37 ERA and 185 Ks in 132.2 innings over 24 starts.

The Astros are 20-8 in their last 28 Divisional Playoff games. Houston is also 71-34 in their last 105 versus the AL Central.

Meanwhile, the Sox are 69-32 in their last 101 at home and 15-38 in their last 53 as an underdog. Chicago is 1-5 in their last six in game four of a series as well.

PICK: I’m probably going to stick with Houston, but staying away. The Astros took a beating in the Sunday game but still continued to score runs on the White Sox pitchers. It’s going to be tough getting Rodon off the mound if he’s on point, however. He’s got just three earned runs on six hits and four walks over his last 13.0 innings. I like Rodon to put up a good effort here in what’s ultimately an Astros win.
