The New York Mets and the Atlanta Braves meet Wednesday in MLB action from SunTrust Park. This will be the finale in a three-game series. New York Mets 

The Mets posted 14 team hits in the Monday opener of this series and ended up powering out a 10-4 win. New York’s Francisco Lindor (three RBI), DJ Stewart (two RBI) and Rafael Ortega (two RBI) each put up a homer. In game two New York made an effort to come back from an early 3-0 deficit but ended up falling 3-2. Daniel Vogelbach had a two-run homer as the RBI. 

In the starter job for the finale the Mets will go with Jose Quintana. In his six starts so far this year Quintana is 1-4 with a 3.03 ERA and 25 Ks in 35.2 innings. In his career Quintana is 90-91 with a 3.73 ERA.

On Tuesday Atlanta had nine team hits, but only four players managed one. Marcell Ozuna (three hits) and Eddie Rosario (two RBI) each had a home run. 

Charlie Morton will take the mound for the start Wednesday. In his 24 starts this year Morton is 12-10 with a 3.54 ERA and 146 Ks in 134.2 innings. Morton is 3-4 with a 3.82 ERA in his last seven starts combined.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’ll stick with the Braves in this one. The line’s a little too thick to mess with, though. Morton should be able to put up a nice start here, as he’s pitching well right now. In his last pair Morton is 2-0 with zero earned in 11.0 innings on seven hits and eight walks. As for Quintana, he’s just 1-2 in his last three but he’s done well also on five runs in 18.0 frames combined. On Tuesday Atlanta had five players go hitless but the rest of the team picked up the slack. The Braves have scored three or more runs in each of the last five games and I don’t see the offense stopping in game three.
