Milwaukee Brewers Betting Preview

After a series win over the Seattle Mariners this past weekend, Milwaukee fell to the Reds on Monday 10-8 in the opener of this set. In Tuesday’s game two, the Brewers posted 13 team hits in a 9-5 win. Christian Yelich finished with two hits and three RBI, while Blake Perkins put up three hits, three RBI and two runs.. Starter Joe Ross lasted 6.1 innings with two earned runs.

In the starting pitcher role for game three it’ll be the Brewers’ Wade Miley in his season debut. Miley opened the season on the 15-day injured list due to a left shoulder impingement. In his career Miley is 108-98 with a 4.06 ERA in 315 games (308 starts).

Cincinnati Reds Betting Preview

Over on the Reds’ side, they lost two of three to the New York Mets in their weekend series, but came back with a big offensive effort on Monday. In game two Cincinnati had a solid offensive outing with 10 team hits. Spencer Steer managed a pair of hits with one RBI and one run, and Frankie Montas gave up three earned in 5.0 innings.

As starter for the Wednesday matchup the Reds are sending out Hunter Greene. In his two starts thus far Greene has a 2.53 ERA without a decision. Greene has 13 Ks in 10.2 total innings this season and holds a 9-20 career record with a 4.53 ERA.

Cincinnati Reds Team Facts

  • The Reds have won seven of their last eight games against National League opponents following a loss.
  • The Reds have covered the run line in five of their last six night games against the Brewers following a loss.
  • The ‘Inning 1 UNDER 0.5 runs’ market has hit in each of the last four games between the Brewers and Reds.

Milwaukee Brewers Team Facts

  • The Brewers have won nine of their last 10 games at Great American Ball Park against NL Central opponents that held a winning record.
  • The Brewers have covered the run line in seven of their last eight road games following a road win.
  • The ‘Inning 1 UNDER 0.5 runs’ market has hit in each of the Brewers’ last four night games.

Brewers vs Reds Prediction

I’ll take a stab on the Reds. Greene should do fairly well here. His first start against the Nationals was a bit sketchy with 4.2 innings and two earned from five hits and four walks. Greene was able to bounce back with 6.0 frames and one earned in a no-decision versus the Mets his last time out, though.

In the Tuesday matchup Cincinnati got multiple hits from four different players but it wasn’t enough to counter the rough pitching outing. The good news is that the Reds only used two arms (Montas and Carson Spiers) so there will be a fresh crop of bullpen guys to work with Wednesday.
