The Atlanta Braves and the Los Angeles Dodgers meet Friday in MLB action from Dodger Stadium. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s an LA Dodgers vs Atlanta Braves.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Atlanta Braves will send out Charlie Morton for the start here and Morton is 2-0 with a 3.60 ERA and 28 strikeouts this season. In his career, Morton is 1-4 with a 5.70 ERA and 39 strikeouts against the Dodgers. Gavin Stone will start for the Dodgers in this one and is 2-1 with a 4.68 ERA and 18 strikeouts this season. This will be Stone’s second career start against Atlanta.

Atlanta Braves Recap

The Atlanta Braves come into this one looking to rebound from a series loss to Seattle to start the week but at least salvaged a 5-2 win from Wednesday’s series finale. That snapped a run of series victories that included the Guardians and Marlins the week prior. The Atlanta Braves capitalized on a 4-run 4th inning to secure the win and let the bullpen do the rest of the work.

Braves Still Own Potent Lineup

Marcell Ozuna leads the Braves with 35 hits including 9 home runs and 32 RBIs while Orlando Arcia and Ozzie Albies each have a team-high 9 doubles with Albies logging 29 hits as well this season. Ronald Acuna Jr. has a team-high 38 strikeouts but also leads the Braves with 13 stolen bases as well this season. Austin Riley and Matt Olson each have 8 doubles as well with Riley belting a pair of triples.

  • The Braves have failed to cover the run line eight of their last nine games against National League opponents that held a winning record.
  • The Braves have trailed after 5 innings in each of their last five games against National League opponents that held a winning record.
  • The ‘Inning 1 UNDER 0.5 runs’ market has hit in each of the Braves’ last five games.

Los Angeles Dodgers Recap

The Los Angeles Dodgers come into this set looking to add to another series victory after their 8-0 win in Wednesday’s series finale against the Arizona Diamondbacks, adding Los Serpientes to the list after series wins over the Blue Jays and Nationals last week. The Dodgers jumped on Jordan Montgomery early, with a 5-run 2nd inning and that’s all the Dodgers would need as Yoshinobu Yamamoto and the rest of the Dodgers’ pen cruised to the win.

Dodgers Still Talented In Their Own Right

Mookie Betts leads the Dodgers with 49 hits including 10 doubles, 6 home runs and a team-high 25 RBIs along with a .377 batting average and .481 OBP while Shohei Ohtani has 44 hits with 7 home runs, 19 RBIs and a team-high 14 doubles. Teoscar Hernandez also has 6 home runs with 22 RBIs and a team-high 45 strikeouts. Betts also has a team-high 8 stolen bases while Ohtani has 5 stolen bases.

LA Dodgers vs Atlanta Braves

I’m on the over here. Morton is a veteran pitcher without question, but he’s still one of the lower-end pitchers in this Braves rotation and that’s with guys like Sale, Fried and even Reynaldo Lopez pitching well, and I think the Dodgers can get to Morton as they have in the past. On the other side, I don’t trust Gavin Stone either, and despite some question marks, the Braves still have a lot of pop in those bats and I think they can get to Stone here. I think we have some offensive fireworks here. Give me the over.
