The Chicago White Sox and the Los Angeles Angels meet Wednesday in MLB action from Angel Stadium. This will be the third installment in a four-game series. Chicago White Sox 

The White Sox had an early lead Monday but ultimately came up with just three hits in a 2-1 loss. On Tuesday Chicago out-hit the Angels 9-6 in a 4-2 loss. Starter Michael Kopech lasted 4.0 innings with two earned on four hits and seven walks. 

For the starter job in game three the White Sox will go with Lucas Giolito. In his 16 starts this year Giolito is 5-5 with a 3.41 ERA and 99 Ks in 92.1 innings. Giolito is 58-52 with a 4.24 ERA in 163 career games (161 starts). 

Los Angeles Angels 

Over on the Angels’ side, they had a tepid five team hits in the Monday opener but still got the walk-off victory. On Tuesday LA scored twice in the seventh inning and never looked back. Shohei Ohtani had a great start with 6.1 innings, one earned, four hits, two walks and 10 Ks. He also hit a pair of solo homers in a 3-for-3 outing at the plate. 

Jaime Barria will take the mound for the start on Wednesday. In his 16 games (four starts) this year Barria is 2-2 with a 2.14 ERA and 40 Ks in 46.1 innings. Barria is 22-28 with a 3.88 ERA in 116 career games (60 starts). 

The Sox are 13-27 in their last 40 versus a team with a winning record and 6-20 in their last 26 in game three of a series. The over is 5-1-1 in Chicago’s last seven Wednesday games. 

Meanwhile, the Angels are 11-3 in their last 14 versus a right-handed starter and 21-7 in their last 28 at home versus a team with a losing record. The under is 3-1-1 in LA’s last five in game three of a series. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’ll take a stab on the Sox here. Giolito will need some help from the bats and pen, though. Over his last three starts, Giolito has been pitching well with four earned in 18.0 combined innings on 17 hits and five walks. He’s just 0-1 in that time, though. On Tuesday Chicago gave up 10 walks and fell victim to a stellar evening from Ohtani. The Sox were fairly tepid at the plate and didn’t have a great time on the mound either. It’s going to take a big turnaround to get a W in game three but I think the Sox are up for it.
