The Los Angeles Angels meet the New York Yankees in MLB action from Yankee Stadium on Monday night.

The Los Angeles Angels will look to build on their 6-4 win over the Tampa Bay Rays last time out. Shohei Ohtani led the charge, going 3 for 4 with a home run, a triple and a double and three RBIs while Phil Gosselin also had three hits with a home run and two RBIs. Juan Lagares added a double and an RBI to make up the scoring for the Angels in the winning effort while Taylor Ward added a pair of doubles and David Fletcher added a pair of base hits as well to finish off the offense for the Halos in the victory. Patrick Sandoval allowed three runs on four hits while striking out six over five innings of work. Tony Watson got the win in relief to improve to 3-3 on the year while Raisel Iglesias closed the deal for his 13th of the season. Dylan Bundy will start here and is 1-7 with a 6.68 ERA and 60 strikeouts this season. In his career, Bundy is 2-6 with a 6.52 ERA and 57 strikeouts against the Yankees.

The New York Yankees will look to rebound after a 9-2 loss at the hands of the Red Sox in their last game last time out. Aaron Judge’s two run-home run was the lone scoring for the Yankees in the losing effort while DJ LeMahieu went 2 for 4 at the dish in the loss. Luke Voit, Gleyber Torres, Clint Frazier and Kyle Higashioka each had a base hit to finish off the offense for New York in the losing effort. Gerrit Cole took the loss, falling to 8-4 on the year after allowing five runs on eight hits while striking out six over five innings of work. Michael King will start here and is 0-3 with a 4.05 ERA and 34 strikeouts this season. This will be King’s first career start against the Angels.

Los Angeles is 7-2 in their last 9 games following a win and 20-44 in their last 64 games as a road underdog while the over is 9-1 in their last 10 road games. New York is 5-1 in their last 6 games against the AL West and 98-47 in their last 145 home games while the over is 6-0-1 in their last 7 games against a team with a losing record. Los Angeles is 3-10 in the last 13 meetings between these two teams and 15-36 in their last 51 meetings in New York.

I’m not looking to back either one of these clubs if we’re being honest, but I’m a lot less eager to back Dylan Bundy as he’s been getting batted around left and right this season. Michael King’s winless and has had his ups and downs, but he’s pitched well despite early exits as of late and with the Yankees looking to get the bad taste out of their mouths from that Boston series over the weekend. I think the Yankees get the job done in this one, so give me the Yankees.
