The Cincinnati Reds and the Milwaukee Brewers meet Sunday in MLB action from American Family Field. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Milwaukee Brewers vs Cincinnati Reds Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Cincinnati Reds will send out Frankie Montas for the start here and Montas is 3-5 with a 4.55 ERA and 44 strikeouts this season. In his career, Montas is 0-1 with a 7.56 ERA and 6 strikeouts against Milwaukee. Colin Rea will get the start for Milwaukee and is 5-2 with a 3.31 ERA and 48 strikeouts this season. In his last five starts against Cincinnati, Rea is 3-0 with a 5.61 ERA and 28 strikeouts.

Cincinnati Reds Recap

The Cincinnati Reds will look to bounce back and win the rubber match of the series after Milwaukee evened the set up at one win apiece thanks to a 3-1 loss in Saturday’s matchup. The loss put the Reds’ series unbeaten streak at risk after splitting with the Guardians and taking out the Cubs and Rockies over the last two weeks.

Reds Still Strong At The Dish Despite Loss

Elly De La Cruz leads the Reds with 59 hits, 11 home runs and 30 RBIs with 35 stolen bases along with a .230 batting average as well. Spencer Steer has a team-high 41 RBIs with 15 doubles and 12 stolen bases while Will Benson also has 12 doubles with 9 stolen bases but also has 90 strikeouts while De La Cruz has a team-high 94 strikeouts so far this season. Jeimer Candelario also has a team-leading 17 doubles as well as 12 home runs and 59 hits this season for Cincinnati.

Why the Cincinnati Reds will win

  • The Reds have won each of their last four games as road underdogs against NL Central opponents following a loss.
  • The Brewers have lost four of their last five games as favorites against the Reds following a home win.
  • The Reds have covered the run line in each of their last seven games as underdogs against NL Central opponents following a loss.
  • The Brewers have failed to cover the run line in each of their last five games as favorites against the Reds following a home win.

Milwaukee Brewers Recap

The Milwaukee Brewers will try to win the series after getting their revenge in Saturday’s victory over the Reds. The win gave the Brewers a chance to keep their series win streak alive after taking down the Blue Jays and Tigers over the last week.

Brewers Consistent At The Plate

William Contreras leads the Brewers with 85 hits including 17 doubles and 48 RBIs along with 9 home runs and a .365 OBP while Rhys Hoskins has 10 home runs with 28 RBIs and Willy Adames has a team-high 17 doubles with 11 home runs and 48 RBIs. Brice Turang leads the Brewers with 24 stolen bases while Adames has a team-high 66 strikeouts as well this season.

Why the Milwaukee Brewers will win

  • The Reds have lost each of their last six day games against NL Central opponents that held a winning record.
  • The Brewers have won each of their last eight games as favorites after playing the previous day.
  • The Brewers have covered the run line in eight of their last nine day games against National League opponents that held a losing record.
  • The Reds have failed to cover the run line each of their last five day games against NL Central opponents that held a winning record.

Milwaukee Brewers vs Cincinnati Reds Prediction

I’m taking the over here. Montas has been more than hittable regardless of where he has pitched this season and the Brewers already got to Montas for 5 runs in his first start against Milwaukee earlier this season. On the other side, I think Rea is due for some serious regression ahead, and I don’t feel like being on him when it happens, as it could very well come to fruition here against a red-hot Reds lineup. All in all, I think we get runs in bunches here, so give me the over here.
