The Milwaukee Brewers and the Toronto Blue Jays meet Tuesday in MLB action from Rogers Centre. The Brewers are coming off a weekend series versus the Giants, losing three of the four games. As for Toronto, they played the Twins in their last set. The Jays managed wins in two of those three games. Check back all season long for free MLB picks at Sports Chat Place.

Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers had a rough time versus the Giants over the weekend, losing 5-0, 15-1 and 3-1 in the first three games. Milwaukee was able to stave off the sweep with a 7-5 Sunday win, though. Starter Colin Rea lasted 6.0 innings with four earned on five hits in that one.

As starter for the Tuesday matchup the Brewers will go with Adrian Houser. In his four starts this year Houser is 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA and 14 Ks in 20.0 innings. Houser is 24-29 with a 3.90 career ERA in 110 games (80 starts).

Toronto Blue Jays

Over on the Toronto side, they lost to the Twins 9-7 on Saturday but won the other two games in that series 3-1 and 3-0. In the Sunday finale, Jays starter Jose Berrios posted 5.2 clean frames with four hits, five walks and five Ks.

In the starter role for the Blue Jays on Tuesday will be Yusei Kikuchi. Over 10 starts this year Kikuchi is 5-2 with a 4.56 ERA and 48 strikeouts over 51.1 innings. Kikuchi is 26-33 with a 4.97 ERA in 112 games (100 starts).

The Brewers are 10-3 in their last 13 interleague games versus a lefty starter and 8-3 in their last 11 on turf. Milwaukee is 3-9 in the last 12 road games.

Meanwhile, the Jays are 7-2 in their last nine versus the NL Central and 20-7 in their last 27 after an off day. Toronto is 3-8 in their last 11 overall.

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’ll try the Brewers in this one. Probably not touching it after this past weekend, though. Milwaukee had a rough time on both sides in that series, with a combined score of 28-9 across the four games.  That said, Houser should post a solid outing in this one. He’s got 11.1 innings combined over his last two starts with zero earned, six hits and two walks between them. As for Kikuchi, he’s been a little sketchy with 12 earned over his last 13.2 frames. Milwaukee should be able to get themselves in a position to win here, but I’m staying away.
