The Los Angeles Lakers and the Washington Wizards duke it out at the Capital One Arena on Sunday night.

The Los Angeles Lakers have been in great form as they’ve won seven of their last nine games and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after sneaking past the Bucks in a 133-129 road win on Friday. Anthony Davis led the team with 44 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks on 18 of 27 shooting, LeBron James added 28 points with eight rebounds and 11 assists while Russell Westbrook tallied 15 points with seven rebounds and 11 assists off the bench. As a team, the Lakers shot 53 percent from the field and 11 of 26 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth with the Bucks in a close contest, until they closed the final 4:44 on a 15-9 run to escape with the gritty win.

Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards have been in a real funk as they’ve lost five of their past six games and they will be hoping to snap a two-game skid after falling just short to the Hornets in a 117-116 road loss on Friday. Bradley Beal led the team with 33 points and seven assists, Kristaps Porzingis added 21 points with 11 rebounds and three assists while Corey Kispert chipped in with 14 points off the bench. As a team, the Wizards shot 45 percent from the field and 12 of 33 from the 3-point line as they struggled for most of the game and trailed by as many as 22 points before they rallied in the fourth quarter only to come up painfully short.

Looking at the betting trends, the Lakers are 6-0 ATS in their last six games against a team with a losing record, 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Wizards are 10-30-1 ATS in their last 41 games against a team with a losing record and 1-6-2 ATS in their last nine games overall.

Head to head, the Lakers are 0-4 ATS in the last four meetings in Washington.

The Lakers have ruled out Dennis Schroder and LeBron James is questionable for this one, while the Wizards will again be missing Rui Hachimura. The Lakers have really turned their season around with seven wins in their last nine games and they looked like their old selves in Friday’s hard-fought win over the Bucks who have been so hard to beat this season. The Wizards will surely come out firing after losing by just one point in their last outing, but they’ve just been so unreliable lately, so I’ll stick with the Lakers to get the job done in this spot.
