The Orlando Magic look to continue their dominance over the visiting Atlanta Hawks tonight.
Head to head, the Hawks are 15-5 ATS in the last 20 meetings and 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Orlando while the road team is 6-2 ATS in the last 8 meetings and the underdog is 14-6 ATS in the last 20 meetings. The Magic are 5-13 ATS in their last 18 home games, 9-23 ATS in their last 32 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and 2-10 ATS in their last 12 games overall. The Hawks on the other hand are 34-16 ATS in their last 51 games playing on 1 days rest, but just 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a losing home record and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games.

The Orlando Magic has only won the 11 games so far this season, but two of them have come against tonight’s opponent in the Atlanta Hawks. I don’t know if it’s a matchup thing, but the Magic seem to have their number this season, firstly winning in Atlanta 92-109 and then backing that up with a win 109-102 victory at home near the end of December. As far as current form goes, Orlando has been right there with the Milwaukee Bucks as the worst team in the league, losing 11 of their past 12 matches. What’s worse, the Magic has only covered the spread in two of those games, which just shows you how bad they have actually been.
The Atlanta Hawks would probably be a top 10 team in this league if they could just play all of there games at home, which is something you could say about a lot of teams actually. Since All-Star Al Horford went down with a season ending injury, the Hawks have still managed to defeat Indiana, Houston and most recently Miami on Monday night, which is pretty impressive. All of those games came at home however, where they are 15-6 on the season. When they hit the road, it’s a different story as they have won just six of their 19 games and have only covered in one of their last five away from home.
Am I crazy for taking Orlando? I know they have been really bad and this will be there third game in four nights, but a lot of their matches lately have been away from home and had they gotten over the line in that triple overtime thriller against the Chicago Bulls, they would have won two of their last three at home. Plus, the Hawks just aren’t a very good road team, and that’s a fact. There is also a chance that the Magic just match up well with Atlanta for some reason, having already defeated them by 17 and 7 points this season. I would stay away personally, but ill take my chances with Orlando and hope they can produce some Magic...
