The Los Angeles Clippers invade the Footprint Center to do battle with the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night.

The Los Angeles Clippers have been in fine form as they’ve won nine of their last 13 games overall and they will be hoping to keep the momentum going after taking down the shorthanded Warriors in a 134-124 home win on Tuesday. Kawhi Leonard led the team with 33 points, seven rebounds and four assists, Norman Powell added 24 points on 10 of 17 shooting off the bench while Paul George chipped in with 20 points and eight assists. As a team, the Clippers shot 53 percent from the field and 17 of 36 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in trouble after leaking 42 points in the second quarter to fall behind going into halftime, but they took control in the third quarter where they exploded for 44 points without committing a single turnover to blow the Warriors away in the end.

Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns have been in red-hot form as they’ve won 11 of their last 14 games overall and they will be gunning for a third straight victory after beating the Kings in a 120-109 win on Tuesday. Devin Booker led the team with 32 points on 13 of 20 shooting, DeAndre Ayton added 29 points with 11 rebounds on 13 of 17 shooting while Chris Paul tallied 17 points with 19 assists. As a team, the Suns shot a healthy 56 percent from the field and seven of 22 from the 3-point line as they took control of the contest with 35 points in the second quarter, before they opened the fourth quarter with a pivotal 19-12 run to pull away and earn the victory.

Looking at the betting trends, the Clippers are 6-2 ATS in their last eight road games, while the Suns are 6-2 ATS in their last eight home games, 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games following a win of more than 10 points and 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games overall.

Head to head, the under is 6-0 in the last six meetings overall and the Clippers are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall.

The Clippers are shorthanded for this one as Norman Powell will be rested, while the Suns are still missing Landry Shamet, Cameron Payne and Kevin Durant. Here we have two in-form teams colliding in what could easily be a playoff preview, but with the Clippers looking to rest Powell, I’ll lean towards the Suns to take advantage and earn their third straight win. The Clippers are only 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall and I think that trend continues here as the Suns take care of business at home.
