The Memphis Grizzlies take the trip to the AT&T Center tonight to battle the San Antonio Spurs.
After losing three of four games, the Grizzlies were able to snap out of their funk with a hard-fought 100-92 win over the Nuggets on Friday. Marc Gasol scored 24 points, Mike Conley scored 21 while Zach Randolph added 20 as the Grizzlies methodically took apart the Nuggets in a 57-45 second half. The jump shots just weren't falling which is why they finished with just 38.6 percent shooting as a team, but with Conley beating his man on almost every drive, the Grizzlies were able to get to the charity stripe with regularity where they made 34 of 38 which was the difference in the end. With the win, Memphis improved to 45-31 which is good enough for the eighth spot in the West.

Standing proudly atop the standings are the Spurs who will be eager to get back to winning ways after having their 19-game win streak snapped by the Thunder on Thursday. Patty Mills had 21 points off the bench while Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard added 17 points each, but the rest of the team just couldn't get it going against the athletic Thunder who forced them into 18 turnovers and kept them off the free-throw line. Despite the win, the Spurs still hold a healthy 3 1/2 game lead over the Thunder for the top seed in the West, but you don't want to lose games against your arch rivals and the Thunder simply swept them this season.
In ATS trends, the Grizzlies are 11-4-1 ATS in their last 16 games against teams above .600 and 0-6 ATS in their last six games overall, while the Spurs are 6-1 ATS in their last seven home games and 18-6 ATS in their last 24 games overall.
Head to head, the Grizzlies are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall and 2-5-1 ATS in the last eight meetings in San Antonio.
The Grizzlies need this win big time, but I'm leaning towards the Spurs if the spread is reasonable.
This should be a cracker of a game. I expect the Grizzlies to hang tough with the Spurs for about three quarters before the home team pulls away with another win and cover.
