The Utah Jazz pay a visit to the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center on Wednesday night.
The Utah Jazz have been the hottest team in the league as they’ve won 19 of their last 20 games and they will be gunning for a ninth straight victory after taking down the 76ers in a 134-123 home win on Monday. Jordan Clarkson drained eight 3-pointers to lead the team with 40 points off the bench, Donovan Mitchell added 24 points and five assists while Joe Ingles chipped in with 20 points and five assists on eight of 12 shooting. As a team, the Jazz shot 52 percent from the field and 18 of 45 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in trouble after allowing 42 points in the first quarter to fall behind by as many as 14 points, before pouring in a combined 71 points in the second and third quarters to make it look easy in the end.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers have been in great form as they’ve won eight of their past 11 games and they will be gunning for a fifth straight win after taking down the Heat in a 125-118 home win on Monday. Marcus Morris led the team with 32 points on 11 of 15 shooting in just 26 minutes of action, Ivica Zubac added 22 points on nine of 11 shooting off the bench while Lou Williams chipped in with 18 points and 10 assists. As a team, the Clippers shot a healthy 55 percent from the field and 15 of 32 from the 3-point line as they poured in 67 points in the first half, before taking control of the game with a pivotal 17-6 run in the fourth quarter to escape with the win.
Looking at the betting trends, the Jazz are 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record, 7-1 ATS in their last eight road games and 20-6 ATS in their last 26 games overall. The Clippers are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record and 1-5 ATS in their last six games against a team above .600.
Head to head, the over is 4-1 in the last five meetings in Los Angeles, the Jazz are 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Los Angeles and the Jazz are 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall.
The Jazz could be shorthanded once again as Mike Conley is listed as questionable due to right hamstring soreness, while the Clippers will be without Paul George, Nicolas Batum and possibly even Kawhi Leonard. With that being said, the Jazz are 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings overall and I think that trend continues here as they edge out the Clippers in a close one.
