The Houston Rockets invade the American Airlines Center to take on the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night.

The Houston Rockets have been in a rut as they’ve lost six of their last nine games overall, but they will be aiming to build some momentum after stopping a five-game skid with a 115-97 win over the Wizards on Monday. Christian Wood drained eight 3-pointers to lead the team with 39 points on 14 of 18 shooting, Jalen Green added 17 points with five assists while Eric Gordon chipped in with 15 points. As a team, the Rockets shot 49 percent from the field and a sizzling 20 of 39 from the 3-point line as they got off to a terrible start and trailed by as many as 23 points in the first half, but they flipped the script and dominated the second half by 64-34 to make it look easy in the end.

Meanwhile, the Dallas Mavericks have been in great shape as they’ve won nine of their last 12 games overall and they will be looking to stay hot after sneaking past the Timberwolves in a 110-108 home win on Monday. Dwight Powell led the team with 22 points on eight of eight shooting, Spencer Dinwiddie added 20 points with eight rebounds and three assists off the bench, while Reggie Bullock chipped in with 18 points. As a team, the Mavericks shot 48 percent from the field and 14 of 46 from the 3-point line as they poured in 37 points in the second quarter to build a 16-point lead which proved to be just enough in the end as the Timberwolves rallied in the second half to make it interesting late.

Looking at the betting trends, the Rockets are 0-5 ATS in their last five road games, 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record and 13-29 ATS in their last 42 games overall. The Mavericks are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games, 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record and 13-6-1 ATS in their last 20 games overall.

Head to head, the under is 8-3 in the last 11 meetings in Dallas and the Rockets are 7-2 ATS in the last nine meetings in Dallas.

The Mavericks will again be missing Luka Doncic, Theo Pinson and Davis Bertans, while the Rockets are coming into this one with the same lineup. The Rockets were really struggling before their impressive comeback win over the Wizards, while the Mavericks have managed to keep winning games despite missing their best player. This is a game I’d rather stay away from, but if I had to choose, I’d side with the more consistent Mavericks to get the win and cover behind a big game from Dinwiddie.
