The Los Angeles Clippers pay a visit to the Denver Nuggets at the Ball Arena on Tuesday night.

The Los Angeles Clippers have been in a rut as they’ve lost six of their last eight games overall and they will be hoping to arrest a three-game skid after getting blown out by the Jazz in a 121-92 road loss on Friday. Robert Covington led the team in scoring with 18 points off the bench, Terance Mann added 14 points while Luke Kennard chipped in with 13 points. As a team, the Clippers shot just 36 percent from the field and 11 of 35 from the 3-point line as they got off to a terrible start and fell behind by double-digits in the first quarter and things only got worse in the second half where they got outscored by a depressing 41-14 to take a 37-point deficit going into halftime. The starting lineup was particularly disappointing in this one as no starter finished in double figures and Amir Coffey was probably the worst as he finished with just two points on one of six shooting in 30 minutes of action.

Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets have cooled off recently with four losses in their last six outings and they will be hoping to avoid a third straight defeat after getting routed by the Celtics in a 124-104 loss on Sunday. Nikola Jokic led the team with 23 points, eight rebounds and four assists, Aaron Gordon added 13 points while DeMarcus Cousins chipped in with 12 points off the bench. As a team, the Nuggets shot just 40 percent from the field and 14 of 39 from the 3-point line as they struggled to match the intensity of the Celtics early on and quickly found themselves in deep trouble after trailing by 25 points going into the halftime break. The Nuggets needed more production from Will Barton who scored just eight points on three of 10 shooting and Jeff Green who scored just six points, but their defense was the real problem as they had no answer for the Celtics who shot a sizzling 57 percent from the field for the game.

Looking at the betting trends, the Clippers are 23-6-1 ATS in their last 30 games playing on three or more days’ rest, 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record and 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games overall. The Nuggets are 0-4 ATS in their last four home games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall.

Head to head, the under is 35-15-2 in the last 52 meetings overall.

The Clippers just haven’t been able to get anything going lately and their confidence took a major hit from their 29-point loss to the Jazz on Friday, while the Nuggets have lost four of their last six and they just got blown out by the Celtics. The Clippers haven’t looked good lately, but they got flat out embarrassed in their last outing, so I’m sure they’ll come out firing in this one. However, the Nuggets were in great form before dropping a tough overtime loss to the Cavaliers, followed by a loss to the red-hot Celtics who are beating everyone these days, so I think they’re deserved favorites here and I like them to get the win and cover at home.
