We have an interesting matchup going down between the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia Sixers on Friday night. The Lakers rely heavily on LeBron James and Anthony Davis, aiming to bounce back after a disappointing first-round playoff exit last season. With new coach JJ Redick and young players like Austin Reaves stepping up. The Sixers, are struggling without Joel Embiid coming into this one 1-6 on the season.
They finally were able to get Paul Geroge up and moving but in his first game back they took a tough loss to the Clippers. His field goal shooting is impressive, standing at 43.3%, and he is also hitting 33.3% of his three-pointers. On the rebounding front, he is grabbing 4.1 rebounds per game while contributing 1.1 assists per game.
There hasn’t been much to be impressed by with this Sixers team so far this season but Oubre has been a solid scoring piece for this team. We’ve seen him have a 28-point game against Toronto and a 21-point game against Milwaukee. He also looked good in his last game putting up 18 points. This Sixers team is starving for offensive production and I think Oubre will get enough looks against this Lakers team.

I expect that there will be a lot of attention on Lebron James & Anthony Davis which will result in Reaves getting a lot of open looks. Austin Reaves is this team’s main deep threat and this is a perfect spot for him to unload from beyond the arc.

Andre Drummond is averaging 8.6 points per game over the first 7 games of the 2024-25 season for the Philadelphia 76ers. He is shooting 47.9% from the field and 25.0% from three-point range, though his attempts from beyond the arc have been minimal (just 0.6 attempts per game). His primary contributions continue to be in rebounding, where he averages 10.6 boards per game, along with 1.6 steals. It’s been apparent that the Sixers aren’t looking to get Drummond involved in this offense.
