The New Orleans Pelicans are starting to heat up now with four wins in their past five games and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after sneaking past the Kings in a 117-112 win on Wednesday. Zion Williamson led the team with 25 points and six assists on 10 of 16 shooting, Brandon Ingram added 23 points while Jonas Valanciunas chipped in with 15 points and 11 rebounds on six of nine shooting. As a team, the Pelicans shot 47 percent from the field and seven of 30 from the 3-point line as they poured in 64 points in the first half to take a 17-point lead, but they had to regroup and finish strong after the Kings rallied all the way back.

Kawhi Leonard led the team with 26 points on 10 of 17 shooting, Paul George added 24 points with eight rebounds and three assists while James Harden chipped in with 16 points, six rebounds and nine assists. As a team, the Clippers shot 45 percent from the field and nine of 28 from the 3-point line, but this win was set up with their defense as they were always in control after restricting the Spurs to just 14 points in the first quarter.

The Pelicans are going to be shorthanded again with CJ McCollum and Matt Ryan still out, while the Clippers are keeping an eye on Norman Powell who is questionable with a groin strain. The Pelicans struggled at the start of the season, but they’re starting to build some momentum now following a couple wins over the Kings, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they were able to pull off the upset against this new-look Clippers squad who are still going through growing pains. I think the Clippers still get the win at home, but only just as the Pelicans earn the cover.
