The Sacramento Kings and Los Angeles Clippers meet Wednesday in NBA preseason action at the STAPLES Center. The Sacramento Kings look for another preseason win after beating the Suns. The Los Angeles Clippers also look for a 2-0 start after beating the Nuggets in their preseason opener.

The Sacramento Kings have won six of their last eight preseason games. The Sacramento Kings are averaging 117 points on 47.3 percent shooting and allowing 106 points on 46.7 percent shooting. Harrison Barnes is averaging 18 points and four rebounds while Marvin Bagley III is averaging 15 points and five rebounds. Buddy Hield is the third double-digit scorer and Tyrese Haliburton is grabbing five rebounds. The Sacramento Kings are shooting 34 percent from beyond the arc and 68.4 percent from the free throw line. The Sacramento Kings are allowing 31.4 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 51 rebounds per game.

The Los Angeles Clippers have lost four of their last five preseason games. The Los Angeles Clippers are averaging 103 points on 43.2 percent shooting and allowing 102 points on 43 percent shooting. Terance Mann is averaging 14 points and eight rebounds while George King is averaging 12 points. Brandon Boston Jr. is the third double-digit scorer and Amir Coffey is grabbing three rebounds. The Los Angeles Clippers are shooting 33.3 percent from beyond the arc and 76 percent from the free throw line. The Los Angeles Clippers are allowing 27 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 52 rebounds per game.

The Kings are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 road games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Clippers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games overall.

Outside of Mann, the Clippers don’t seem all that interested in playing key players early on this preseason. The Kings have had a lot of preseason success these last three seasons because of the youth and playing time on the table. There’s a lot of young, hungry players eager to earn a role on the Kings. Marvin Bagley III looked great in the Kings opener and they have some sneaky decent shooting, which they showed in a comfortable preseason opener.

Maybe we can get the Kings as a dog. If not, I still like the Kings in this contest.
