The Washington Wizards and Los Angeles Lakers meet Monday in NBA preseason action at VISA Athletic Center.

The Washington Wizards look for a bounce back performance after dropping to 0-2 in scrimmages after a loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. The Washington Wizards are averaging 115.6 points on 46.1 percent shooting and allowing 119.7 points on 49 percent shooting. Bradley Beal is averaging 30.5 points and 6.1 assists while Davis Bertans is averaging 15.4 points and 4.5 rebounds. Rui Hachimura is the third double-digit scorer and Thomas Bryant is grabbing 6.8 rebounds. The Washington Wizards are shooting 37.2 percent from beyond the arc and 78.7 percent from the free thitem line. The Washington Wizards are allowing 37.8 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 41.7 rebounds per game.

The Los Angeles Lakers look for another victory after beating the Orlando Magic by seven points. The Los Angeles Lakers are averaging 114.3 points on 48.5 percent shooting and allowing 106.9 points on 44.4 percent shooting. Anthony Davis is averaging 26.7 points and 9.4 rebounds while LeBron James is averaging 25.7 points and 10.6 assists. Kyle Kuzma is the third double-digit scorer and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is grabbing 2.1 rebounds. The Los Angeles Lakers are shooting 35.5 percent from beyond the arc and 73 percent from the free thitem line. The Los Angeles Lakers are allowing 34.2 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 46.1 rebounds per game.

The Washington Wizards aren’t a good team at full strength and they’re even worse with Beal and Bertans not on the court. The Wizards just had trouble keeping up with a Clippers squad that’s missing the bulk of their depth and not playing their two stars a lot of minutes. The Los Angeles Lakers beat up on the Magic and the margin of victory would have been even greater if they kept their foot on the gas coming out of halftime. Bottom line is these teams are worlds apart and the Washington Wizards have little to no betting value considering they’re not putting an NBA roster on the court.

I’ll take the Lakers and whatever the line is.
