The Phoenix Suns and the Minnesota Timberwolves collide at the Target Center on Wednesday night.

The Phoenix Suns have been in great shape as they’ve won seven of their last eight games overall and they will be gunning for a sixth straight victory after taking down the Kings in a 127-124 overtime road win on Sunday. Devin Booker led the team with 31 points, seven rebounds and five assists, Mikal Bridges added 27 points while Landry Shamet chipped in with 21 points off the bench. As a team, the Suns shot 50 percent from the field and 12 of 28 from the 3-point line as they rallied back from an early 14-point deficit to force overtime where they escaped with the narrow win despite trailing on two difference occasions.

Meanwhile, the Minnesota Timberwolves have been in red-hot form as they’ve won 10 of their last 12 games overall, but they will be hoping to bounce back here after coming up painfully short to the Mavericks in a 110-108 road loss on Monday. Karl-Anthony Towns led the team with 22 points, eight rebounds and three assists, Anthony Edwards added 19 points while D’Angelo Russell chipped in with 18 points. As a team, the Timberwolves shot just 39 percent from the field and 13 of 37 from the 3-point line as they allowed 37 points in the second quarter to fall behind by 16 points, which proved to be just too much to overcome in the end as the Timberwolves got to within two points, but no closer.

Looking at the betting trends, the Suns are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 road games and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Timberwolves are 20-8-1 ATS in their last 29 home games, 4-1 ATS in their last five games against a team with a winning record and 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games overall.

Head to head, the under is 4-1 in the last five meetings in Minnesota, the Suns are 10-4-1 ATS in the last 15 meetings overall and the Suns are 4-1-1 ATS in the last six meetings in Minnesota.

The Suns are coming into this one with plenty of momentum as they’ve managed to keep winning games despite missing Chris Paul and Cameron Johnson, while the Timberwolves are currently in season-best form but they could be shorthanded as Karl-Anthony Towns is listed as questionable. This is sure to be a close one as both teams have been playing so well lately, but with the injury cloud hanging over Towns, I’d rather side with the Suns at the short line in this spot.
