The Charlotte Hornets invade the Chesapeake Energy Arena to do battle with the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday night.

The Charlotte Hornets have been in decent shape lately as they’ve won five of their past eight games, but they will be eager to bounce back here after getting thrashed by the Celtics in a 116-86 road loss on Sunday. Terry Rozier led the team with 22 points, seven rebounds and four assists, Devonte Graham added 11 points while Miles Bridges chipped in with 10 points in a rare start, but no other player scored more than seven points. As a team, the Hornets shot just 40 percent from the field and 10 of 31 from the 3-point line as they fell behind big after scoring just 17 points in the second quarter, before getting completely blown out in the third quarter where they allowed 40 points. Miles Bridges shot just three of nine from the field while PJ Washington scored just three points on one of six shooting.

Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder have been in a rut lately as they’ve lost six of their past seven games and they will be hoping to put an end to a three-game skid after getting routed by the Pistons in a 132-108 home loss on Monday. Aleksej Pokusevski led the team in scoring with 19 points on eight of 19 shooting, Svi Mykhailiuk added 17 points while Theo Maledon chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Thunder shot just 42 percent from the field and a miserly five of 27 from the 3-point line as they struggled to get going and scored just 19 points in the first quarter to fall behind by double-digits early, before getting run off the court in the second half where the Pistons poured in 74 points.

Looking at the betting trends, the Hornets are 36-17-1 ATS in their last 54 games against a team with a losing record, 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games following a loss of more than 10 points and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games overall. The Thunder are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games, 0-4 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games overall.

Head to head, the under is 5-0 in the last five meetings overall, the Hornets are 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings overall and the Hornets are 3-8-1 ATS in the last 12 meetings in Oklahoma City.

The Hornets were on a nice little run before getting completely stopped in their tracks by the Celtics in their last outing, but they will be eager to bounce back here against a depleted Thunder team who have lost their last three games by an average of 36.3 points. The Hornets are coming into this one well-rested as they haven’t played since Sunday and they are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games following a loss of more than 10 points. The Hornets’ lack of depth was exposed against the Celtics, but they have more than enough talent to take down this slumping Thunder team.
