The Minnesota Timberwolves and the Oklahoma City Thunder do battle once again at the Chesapeake Energy Arena on Saturday night.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have been in a terrible slump lately as they’ve lost nine of their past 12 games, but they will be looking to build some momentum after last night’s 106-103 road win at Oklahoma City. Malik Beasley led the team with 24 points on nine of 19 shooting, D’Angelo Russell added 21 points with six assists while Naz Reid chipped in with 17 points on eight of 12 shooting. As a team, the Timberwolves shot 43 percent from the field and 16 of 40 from the 3-point line as they struggled to get going in the first half, before taking control with a pivotal 15-4 run to close the third quarter. In typical fashion, the Timberwolves blew the lead late in the game, but this time it was Russell who saved the day with the go-ahead 3-pointer with just 3.7 seconds remaining.

Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder have been in a rut as they’ve lost six of their past nine games and they will be hoping to bounce back after last night’s narrow loss to the Timberwolves. Al Horford led the team with 26 points and eight assists, Hamidou Diallo added 16 points with 10 assists while Darius Bazley chipped in with 12 points and 10 rebounds. As a team, the Thunder shot 45 percent from the field and 13 of 34 from the 3-point line as they rallied back from nine-point deficit in the fourth quarter, only to lose in the final seconds.

Looking at the betting trends, the Timberwolves are 4-1 ATS in their last five games playing on zero days’ rest and 5-0 ATS in their last five games against a team with a losing record. The Thunder are 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games and 1-5 ATS in their last six games playing on zero days’ rest.

Head to head, the over is 6-1 in the last seven meetings overall, the Timberwolves are 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings overall and the Timberwolves are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Oklahoma City.

The Timberwolves will take plenty of confidence from last night’s win, but it’s always tough to beat the same team twice in a row. The Thunder haven’t been in red-hot form, but in this spot, they represent decent value as the home underdog. I’m taking the Thunder with the points in a game they could win outright.
