The Charlotte Hornets travel to the Footprint Center to take on the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night.

The Charlotte Hornets have been in rough shape as they’ve lost nine of their last 12 games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back after getting routed by the Jazz in a 120-102 road loss last night. Terry Rozier led the team with 23 points, Mason Plumlee added 18 points with eight rebounds and five assists while Dennis Smith Jr chipped in with 15 points and nine assists off the bench. As a team, the Hornets shot 44 percent from the field and just two of 16 from the 3-point line as they kept pace with the Jazz until the second quarter where they got outscored by 37-21 to fall behind by double-digits and things only got worse in the fourth quarter. Bryce McGowens had a rough night as he finished with just two points on zero of seven shooting off the bench while PJ Washington scored just three points on one of seven shooting.

Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns are starting to turn things around as they are now on a three-game win streak after sneaking past the red-hot Grizzlies in a 112-110 home win on Sunday. Mikal Bridges led the team with 24 points, five rebounds and four assists, Chris Paul added 22 points with 11 assists while Torrey Craig chipped in with 20 points on seven of nine shooting. As a team, the Suns shot 44 percent from the field and 13 of 35 from the 3-point line as they dominated with their defense early on and held the Grizzlies to just 37 points in the first half to lead by as many as 29 points which proved to be just enough in the end as the Grizzlies exploded for 73 points in the second half only to run out of time in the end.

Looking at the betting trends, the Hornets are 4-1-2 ATS in their last seven games playing on zero days’ rest and 4-0-1 ATS in their last five road games against a team with a home record above .600. The Suns are 2-10 ATS in their last 12 games against a team below .400 and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall.

Head to head, the over is 11-4 in the last 15 meetings overall and the over is 6-1 in the last seven meetings in Phoenix.

The Hornets are again missing Cody Martin and LaMelo Ball, while the Suns still have Devin Booker, Landry Shamet and DeAndre Ayton all listed as out on the injury report. The Hornets came to life with a couple of wins on the trot before getting routed by the Hornets last night, but in this matchup, it has been the Suns who have shown more improvement as they just took down the Grizzlies in a thrilling win in their last outing. The Suns are still banged up at the moment, but they are starting to heat up again and I think they can keep it going with a win and cover at home.
