The Phoenix Suns play host to the Toronto Raptors at the Footprint Center on Friday night.
The Toronto Raptors have been in a rut as they’ve lost five of their last eight games overall, but they will be eager to build some momentum after rallying past the Spurs in a 119-104 road win on Wednesday. Fred VanVleet led the team with 26 points, Scottie Barnes and Pascal Siakam each scored 20 points while Gary Trent Jr. chipped in with 17 points. As a team, the Raptors shot 48 percent from the field and 11 of 30 from the 3-point line as they trailed going into halftime, before dominating the second half by 61-43 to win comfortably in the end.
Meanwhile, the Phoenix Suns have been in fine form as they’ve won four of their last five games and they will be aiming for a third straight victory after routing the Heat in a 111-90 road win on Wednesday. Devin Booker led the team with 23 points, eight rebounds and nine assists, Mikal Bridges added 21 points with nine rebounds and three assists while DeAndre Ayton chipped in with 19 points and 10 rebounds. As a team, the Suns shot 45 percent from the field and 11 of 37 from the 3-point line as they went back and forth in a tightly contested first half, before going on a pivotal 27-12 run in the third quarter to pull away and escape with the statement win.

The Raptors were really struggling before their big win over the Spurs on Wednesday, while the Suns are coming into this one fresh off an impressive blowout win over the surging Heat. The Raptors looked good in their last game, but they are only 1-7 ATS in the last eight meetings in Phoenix, so I’m sticking with the more consistent Suns to take care of business at home.
